This blended Scotch whisky is carefully crafted by mixing malt and grain whiskies, with each component aged for at least 25 years in oak casks. It undergoes Dewar’s signature “double ageing” process, where the blend is returned to oak casks after initial mixing to achieve extra smoothness. The whisky is then finished in Royal Brackla single malt casks, which adds a unique depth of flavor. At the heart of the blend is usually Aberfeldy single malt, and the creation is overseen by Dewar’s Master Blender Stephanie Macleod.
The whisky comes in a 750ml bottle in the US and has an alcohol content of 40% ABV. Its flavor profile is rich and elegant, combining notes of honey, dried citrus peel, toasted oak, stewed plum, and floral hints such as apple blossom. On the palate, it offers sweet stone fruits, vanilla, caramel, sandalwood, and light citrus, while the finish is long, smooth, and slightly smoky with lingering toffee, toasted oak, and a hint of spice.
Launched to replace Dewar’s older expression Dewar’s Signature, this whisky has won numerous awards, including gold medals at major international competitions. Known as one of the most awarded blended Scotch brands, it is marketed as a luxurious yet approachable whisky, perfect for celebrations and special occasions.
