This sweet liqueur, also known as a cordial, is famous for its strong, refreshing peppermint flavor and aroma. The most common version is a bright green, which adds a fun, vibrant look to cocktails, although there is also a clear “White” version for those who prefer a subtler presentation. It is made by infusing mint leaves and lemon oil into a neutral spirit, which is then sweetened and, in the green version, colored.
The alcohol content usually ranges from 24–30% ABV (48–60 Proof), with the standard 750ml bottle containing about 30% ABV. Produced by the well-known Dutch company DeKuyper Royal Distillers, this liqueur is smooth and creamy on the palate because of its high sugar content. It is popular in cocktails such as the Grasshopper and Stinger, and it mixes well with vodka, gin, rum, or soda.
