Description

Dalwhinnie 15-Year-Old is a single malt Scotch whisky that, while technically located in Speyside, is often considered a Highland malt. It is crafted at Dalwhinnie, one of Scotland’s highest and coldest working distilleries, and produced by Diageo, a major international beverage company. As part of Diageo’s “Classic Malts of Scotland” collection, it serves as a key representative of the Highland style.

This whisky is usually sold in 750ml bottles and is bottled at 43% ABV, offering a smooth and approachable strength. It is mainly matured in used American oak bourbon casks and made with pure spring water from Lochan an Doire-Uaine, which flows over local peat to add subtle character. Dalwhinnie uses traditional worm tub condensers, giving the spirit a slightly heavier and meaty texture, yet it remains gentle and elegant, earning the nickname “The Gentle Spirit.”

On the palate, it delivers heather honey, vanilla, toffee, apples, pears, and a light touch of peat smoke. It is chill-filtered and colored with caramel for consistency, ensuring a reliable appearance and taste. This whisky is best enjoyed neat, with a splash of spring water, or slightly chilled, which enhances its honeyed and delicate flavors.
