Crown Royal XO Canadian Whisky (750Ml)

Description

Crown Royal XO takes the smooth Crown Royal style one step further. Master Blender Andrew MacKay built it from about 50 of the brand’s whiskies. The blend is then finished in cognac casks made from French Limousin oak. It first reached shelves in early 2014.

The nose is soft and mild. You’ll pick up vanilla, caramel and a little light oak. On the palate it feels balanced, with vanilla, gentle spice and rich dried fruit. The finish is medium in length, with light vanilla and subtle spice.

That cognac cask step is what sets XO apart from standard Crown Royal. It brings a brandy-like fruitiness and a silkier feel. Judges have noticed too. XO won Gold at the 2021 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It also earned Silver at the 2022 World Whiskies Awards.

Sip it neat or over a large cube to enjoy the soft texture. A splash of water opens it up a little. It goes well with dark chocolate, smoked meats or aged cheese. It can also lift a classic whisky cocktail.
