On the nose, the chocolate influence is immediate but layered. You get dark cocoa and bittersweet chocolate that arrive first - it is rich and slightly roasted, followed by milk chocolate cream and a whisper of mocha. Underneath those confectionary notes, you will find the blended whisky’s vanilla and caramel, and that's from the American oak maturation. You can also get a soft toffee sweetness and a faint cereal warmth that reminds you this is still whisky.

There is a pleasant mouth-coating texture, slightly syrupy but not cloying, that allows the chocolate to linger without overwhelming the spirit’s identity.
