Crown Royal Blenders’ Mash Canadian Whisky was the first release in Crown Royal’s Blenders’ Series. It came out in 2018 under the name Bourbon Mash. It was soon renamed, since bourbon must be made in the USA. The whisky is made at the Gimli distillery in Manitoba. Its mash is corn-heavy: about 64% corn, 32% rye and 4% malted barley. On the nose you get vanilla, caramel and oak, with a touch of rye spice. The palate is light and sweet, with vanilla, caramel and soft fruit. The finish is fairly short, with oak and vanilla. Sip it neat, or mix it with ginger ale or cola.
