This Single Malt Scotch Whisky is crafted in the heart of Speyside, Scotland, in the charming village of Craigellachie, Banffshire, where the Rivers Fiddich and Spey meet. Aged for at least 13 years, it’s bottled at 46% ABV to preserve its bold, natural character. The whisky is first matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, then partly finished in first-fill Sherry and Bourbon casks for added depth and complexity.
Unlike most lighter Speyside whiskies, Craigellachie is known for its robust, full-bodied, and slightly “meaty” flavor. This distinct taste comes from using traditional worm tub condensers, which give the spirit a heavier, richer texture. It’s non-chill filtered and has no added coloring, ensuring an authentic, natural expression of the whisky.
On the nose, it offers aromas of toasted marshmallows, roasted pineapple, baked apples with cloves, and a hint of smokiness. The palate is rich and full, combining fruity, malty, spicy, and savory notes that build toward a long, warm finish with touches of baked fruit and spice.
Usually available in a 750mL bottle (700mL in some markets), Craigellachie 13-Year-Old reflects over a century of craftsmanship—the distillery was founded in 1891, though this iconic single malt was officially launched in 2014.
