Description
For over 20 years, Compass Box has crafted
scotch whisky in London, England. In 2000, founder John Glaser was working for a large company in the UK, where garnered knowledge, experience, and perspective. From this, he decided to craft his brand unique to how other scotch whisky sellers and distillers were. Thus, Compass Box was born, and came to produce whiskeys with outstanding and distinct flavor and character. One of their most popular blends,
Compass Box Spice Tree Scotch Whisky, has returned after a period of discontinued production, and brings with it a delicious flavor infused through a unique hybrid oak cask aging. Bottled at 46% ABV, custom-made casks featuring French oak heads and American oak bodies replicate the intense, rich malt flavor which the original Spice Tree Scotch bottles carried. Like all of their whiskeys, Compass Box Spice Tree is no-chill filtered to leave its amber color and natural mouthfeel. This SFWSC 2015 Best Blended Malt Scotch Winner boasts aromas of dried herbs, oak, and spice. The palate holds a delicious baking-flavor spread with gingerbread, pepper, toffee, and vanilla. The flavor carries over from a core of fruity maltiness with an intense but round finish. Compass Box prides itself on the diversity derived from the quality of their whisky, and this spice tree whisky is no exception. Spice Tree Scotch pairs well with rich, bold flavors, which makes it perfect for after-dinner sipping or as an accompaniment to a variety of cheese, chocolate, or spiced cakes.
