Description

Chopin Family Reserve is a Polish potato vodka that rests for two years in oak. Retailers call it the world’s first rested, super-premium young potato vodka. It comes from the Chopin distillery in Krzesk, established in 1896.

The story starts in the estate’s own fields. Once in a long while, the team finds a potato good enough for something special. This variety was planted in 2016 and harvested young, while the skins were still tender. It was grown without chemicals or pesticides.

The potatoes are distilled with care to keep as much of their sweet earthiness as possible. The spirit then rests for two years in 50-year-old Polish oak barrels. Each bottle is filled by hand. It is naturally gluten-free and bottled at 40% ABV.

The nose is soft, with hints of spice over a gentle, sweet musk. On the palate, an earthy sweetness opens first, with quiet notes of licorice and clove. The finish is medium-long and leaves you with a lingering warmth.

Sip it chilled and neat, over the rocks, or in a classic martini. It pairs well with caviar, smoked salmon, oysters or mild cheeses.
