Description

Chivas Regal Extra 13 is a blended Scotch whisky with a richer, sweeter side. The whisky in this blend is aged for 13 years. Part of it matures in Oloroso sherry casks, which add extra depth and fruit. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

The house behind it has deep roots. Chivas Regal traces its story to John and James Chivas and their fine-food shop in Aberdeen, Scotland. Today the brand is part of Pernod Ricard.

Pour a dram and you will smell vanilla and caramel first. Ripe pear, melon and creamy toffee follow. On the palate you get sweet ripe pears in syrup, cinnamon sweets and crisp almonds. The finish is rich and intense, with a long, sweet glow.

Chivas suggests mixing it, not just sipping it. Try it in a Whisky Sangria or a Cherry Highball. It is also lovely neat or on the rocks, next to a square of dark chocolate.
