Buchanan's 18 Year Special Reserve is a blended Scotch whisky built from grain whiskies and single malts. Every whisky in the blend has aged for at least 18 years. It matures in oak casks that once held sherry and is bottled at 40% ABV.

The brand calls it silky and delicate. Rich preserved sweet orange and black cherry come first. Nuts and honey follow, with a light touch of oak. A faint hint of wood smoke closes each sip.

Judges agree. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition gave it Gold in both 2020 and 2024. It also scored 97 points at the 2019 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.
