Branson XO Cognac (750Ml)

Description

Branson XO is a Grande Champagne cognac, from the top cru of the Cognac region. The Raymond Ragnaud family blends it. They have run their house in Grande Champagne since 1860. The brand belongs to the Sire Spirits portfolio of Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.

Every eau-de-vie in the blend has aged at least 10 years. Some are more than 25 years old. In the glass it pours a deep brown with bronze highlights.

Floral notes, grilled almonds and orange zest greet you on the nose. Judges have also noted soft fruit and caramel, with hints of vanilla. The palate opens with bright orange zest and honey. Tobacco and dark cocoa settle in after that. The finish is long, carrying honey, tobacco and chocolate. There is almost no burn at 40% ABV.

Santé Magazine gave it a Gold Star with a 4.5 out of 5 rating. It is the sort of bottle you save for a special night.

Pour it neat at room temperature to get the full picture. You can build a slow-sipping cocktail with it, but it shines most on its own. Try it next to dark chocolate, aged cheese or a good cigar. It also makes a generous gift for a cognac lover.
