Branson Grande Champagne (750Ml)

Description

Branson Grande Champagne VSOP is the cognac behind Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson's Branson label. It is blended by Cognac Raymond Ragnaud, a family house in Grande Champagne since 1860. Grande Champagne is the top cru of Cognac's growing areas. Its chalky soils give spirits that age slowly and gain depth.

The hand-picked estate grapes are distilled in a pot still from the 1800s. The cognac rests in sessile oak, some barrels over 50 years old. VSOP means at least four years, but most of this blend is about seven.

The color is bright gold with bronze glints. The nose is floral, with ripe peach, clove, cinnamon and a hint of tobacco. On the palate, sweet spice and clove meet vanilla, dried fruit and a little licorice. The finish is very smooth, with almost no burn, and it lasts.

Sip it neat, or add a drop of water to open it up. Pair it with dark chocolate, aged cheese or rich meat. It also makes a fine Sidecar.
