Bird Dog Salted Caramel Whiskey starts with real Kentucky bourbon. The team at Western Spirits in Bowling Green, Kentucky, then adds a salted caramel flavor. It is bottled at 80 proof. That is a little stronger than many flavored whiskeys, so the bourbon still shows up in your glass.

Lift the glass and you get warm caramel first. Oak and vanilla sit right behind it. On the palate, the caramel turns creamy and soft. A pinch of salt keeps it from getting too sweet. Then the classic bourbon notes of vanilla and oak come through. The finish is warm and stays with you for a while. It fades out on that sweet and salty caramel.
