Ben Holladay Bottled-in-Bond is a true Missouri straight bourbon from Holladay Distillery in Weston, Missouri. Its whiskey story goes back to 1856, when Ben Holladay began distilling on this land. Limestone springs on the property still supply the water. Today McCormick Distilling Co. owns the brand and keeps the original 1856 mash bill alive.

That mash is 73% corn, 15% rye and 12% malted barley, using Missouri-grown grain. The spirit ages six years in level-three charred Missouri white oak. As a bonded bourbon, it comes from one distillery and one season and is bottled at 100 proof. It is also non-chill filtered.

Your first sniff brings caramel, toasted oak and warm baking spice with cinnamon. On the palate it feels thick and chewy. Leather, dark stone fruit and fig sit on a frame of oak and vanilla. The finish runs warm, with charred oak and a last bit of spice.
