The Balvenie is a Speyside distillery celebrated for its commitment to traditional craft. Their process relies on expertise, skill, and ambition - all of which are the same now as it has been through generations. That means everything. Even the barley itself is grown the same way it has always been.
The Balvenie Doublewood Scotch Whisky is, of course, aged for 12 years in whisky oak and then finished in sherry oak, hence the name. This process results in a sweet and balanced whisky with notes of honey, cinnamon, and vanilla spice.
The 12 Year Old Doublewood is best sipped neat or with a few drops of water to open its layers. You’d want to embrace and fully experience the cask finish, not mask it.
In 2024, The Balvenie 12 Year Old Doublewood Scotch Whisky was given the gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and at the International Spirits Challenge. The year after that, it was awarded the bronze at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, Silver at the NZ Spirits Awards, and another Silver at the International Spirits Challenge.
The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1892, and it still is one of the most trusted names in Speyside whisky. With the craft already perfected and a product praised by many, there’s no need to change a thing.
