Bacardi Gran Reserva 10 Year Old Rum (750Ml)

Description

Bacardí has been making rum for more than 150 years. Gran Reserva Diez sits near the top of its aged range. Diez means ten in Spanish. Every drop in this premium rum rests at least ten years in barrels under the Caribbean sun.

After blending, the rum is filtered through charcoal for a smoother finish. Bacardí bottles it in Cataño, Puerto Rico, at 40% ABV. The brand calls it an extra rare gold rum.

You'll notice almond and ripe peach on the nose. The palate brings banana, pear and vanilla. Bright stone fruit sits on a base of caramelized vanilla and oak. The finish is smooth and oaky, with pineapple and a little cinnamon.

The Rum Howler Blog scored it 90.5 out of 100 and called it a fine sipper. Bacardí suggests you drink it neat or on the rocks.

It also makes a rich Rum Old Fashioned. For dessert, try it with dark chocolate cake or crème brûlée. Aged cheeses and smoked meats on a board work too. Open it for a birthday or a slow Sunday evening.
