Arette Clásico Reposado comes from El Llano, one of the oldest distilleries in the town of Tequila, Jalisco. El Llano dates back to 1900. Eduardo and Jaime Orendain launched the Arette brand there in 1986, and the family still runs it today.

The Clásico line is all about clean, steady flavor. The agave is cooked in stainless steel autoclaves. It ferments naturally in open tanks, then goes through two runs in copper pot stills. A rest in oak rounds out the quality agave without covering it up.

Bring the glass to your nose and you get sweet, honeyed agave. Light floral notes and a touch of vanilla follow. The sip leans earthy and herbal, with soft oak and gentle spice. It finishes at medium length, with light black pepper and dried herbs.

It is gentle enough to sip neat, and it makes a lovely margarita or paloma. Try it with tacos al pastor, ceviche or grilled chicken.
