Description

1792 Full Proof comes from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. The barrels are filled at 125 proof, and the bourbon is bottled at that same strength (62.5% ABV).

Barton skips chill filtering here and uses only a plate and frame filter. That keeps the texture full and the flavor bold.

You get caramel, vanilla and dry oak on the nose. The palate is deep and a little smoky, balanced by sweet vanilla, caramel and cinnamon. The finish is long and warm, with oak and spice.

Jim Murray's Whisky Bible named it World Whisky of the Year for 2020. It suits bourbon fans who love high proof. A few drops of water calm the heat.
