TEQUILA ADVENTURES

Have a cocktail party today; call all of your fun friends to create a joyous gathering with yummy cocktails. Make a ‘Tequini;’ it’s the Mexican Martini. It’s made with 1.5 oz. premium silver tequila, ½ oz. dry Vermouth, cracked ice, and a twist of lime peel. Pour the tequila and Vermouth over ice in a mixing glass; stir until chilled, strain ice and pour immediately into a chilled 3-oz, martini glass. Garnish and serve. For those cinnamon lovers out there, try a ‘Third Street Promenade.’ It’s made with 1/3 oz. tequila, 1.5 oz. gin, 1/3 oz. Triple Sec, ½ oz. Cinnamon Schnapps, and 6 oz. orange juice. Put the ingredients into a blender with ice, blend well, and then pour into a tall chilled glass. Banana goes great with tequila; have a ‘Torador.’ It’s made with 1.5 oz. tequila, ½ oz. Crème de Banana, and 1 oz. cream. Shake well with ice and strain into a cocktail glass.

For a simple cocktail, make a ‘Tommy’s margarita.’ It’s made with 2 oz. tequila, 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice, and ½ oz. agave syrup. Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker over ice, shake to chill, and strain over fresh ice. A salt garnish around the rim is optional. For a real party starter, make a ‘Tequila Negroni.’ It’s made with 1 oz. Campari, 1 oz. sweet red Vermouth, and 1 oz. tequila. Combine all of the ingredients in a lowball glass with ice, stir to chill, and dilute it a little before drinking. Make a colorful drink any time of the day; a ‘Tequila Sunrise’ is fun and tasty. It’s made with 3 oz. orange juice, 1.5 oz. tequila, and ½ oz. grenadine. Pour the tequila and orange juice in a tall glass over ice, stir briefly to combine; add grenadine and watch as it sinks. It literally looks like a beautiful sunrise. Enjoy.
