Torres 20 Hors D'Age Brandy (750Ml)

Description

Torres 20 is a Spanish brandy from the Torres family of Penedès. You may also see it labeled Hors d'Age Superior Brandy. It starts with white wines made from Parellada and Ugni Blanc grapes. Each grape variety is distilled twice, on its own, in traditional stills. The spirit then rests in French Limousin oak. Torres uses static ageing here rather than a solera.

Pour a glass and you see a dark amber color. The nose is deep and warm. Vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg come first, with dried fruit behind them. On the palate it feels velvety and full. Caramel and dried fruit lead, while subtle oak keeps things in balance. The finish stays smooth and warm, with a gentle trace of wood.

This bottle has a strong record at competitions. In 2019 and 2020 it took Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It took Double Gold at the International Spirits Challenge in 2022. It also earned Gold at the International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2007 and 2017.
