Old Grand-Dad Bourbon was created by Raymond B. Hayden to pay homage to his grandfather Meredith Basil Hayden Sr.. A well-known distiller in his time, he crafted his bourbons with a higher percentage of rye, giving them distinct character which Jim Beam is still known for to this day. First bottled in 1882, Old Grand-Dad is distilled at the Jim Beam Plant in Clermont, Kentucky with little change to the original. Old Grand Dad Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a beautiful golden honey brown which shows through the clear glass bottles decorated with a fanciful portrait of Hayden Sr. Tasting notes of this bourbon include charred oak and rye spice balanced with hints of caramel, vanilla and fruits. This iconic bourbon is best enjoyed in an array of cocktails which call for a full-bodied and complex bourbon. Try it in a bourbon sour or Boulevardier cocktail!
