This Single Malt Scotch Whisky comes from the beautiful Highlands of Scotland and is typically aged for 14 years, replacing the earlier 12-year version. It begins its journey in American white oak bourbon casks, which give it smooth vanilla and toffee notes, and is then finished in Ruby Port casks from Portugal. This second aging adds a rich depth of flavor and a striking ruby color. The name reflects its origins — “Quinta” means wine estate in Portuguese, while “Ruban” means ruby in Gaelic.
Bottled at 46% ABV and non-chill filtered, this whisky retains more of its natural flavor, aroma, and silky texture. Its deep reddish-copper hue comes directly from the port casks. On the palate, it offers a perfect balance of sweet and dark flavors — think dark chocolate, ripe berries, mint, and a touch of orange zest. The mouthfeel is smooth and elegant, leading to a long, slightly spicy finish with lingering notes of rich chocolate and fruit.
Crafted by the Glenmorangie Distillery, famous for its exceptionally tall copper stills that produce a refined, delicate spirit, this expression is part of their “Extra Matured” range. It’s best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water and pairs beautifully with dark chocolate desserts.
