Daou Vineyards was founded by brothers Georges and Daniel Daou and is located in Paso Robles, California, often sourcing grapes from the Adelaida District. This red wine is primarily made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, which make up about 77% of the blend, while Petit Verdot and other varietals contribute the remaining 23%.
It comes in a standard 750ml bottle and is part of Daou's Reserve Collection, featuring special selections from the best vineyard blocks. The wine is aged for 16-18 months in oak barrels, with half being new French oak, giving it a rich and smooth character with soft tannins. On the palate, it is full-bodied and complex, offering flavors of black fruits like blackberry and plum, along with hints of chocolate, mocha, vanilla, cedar, and mild spices. Thanks to the unique Paso Robles climate, with warm days and cool nights, the wine develops remarkable depth and structure.
Daou Vineyards uses sustainable vineyard practices and advanced winemaking techniques, ensuring consistent quality. This wine pairs beautifully with hearty meats such as beef, lamb, or venison. With an alcohol content of around 15% and strong tannins, it can be aged for 10-15 years. It frequently receives high ratings from wine critics, making it a sought-after choice for wine lovers.
