The oldest brand of Armenian brandy, Ararat, was founded by Nerses and Vasily Tairyan in 1887. Over 130 years ago, these pioneers laid the foundations of what would become a pinnacle of premium, high-quality brandy, with its first international recognition occurring in the 1902 World Exhibition in the birthplace of cognac: France. Since then, Ararat has grown in recognition, notoriety, and breadth, spanning throughout 35 countries as the first global Armenian cognac.
Their award-winning statements offer a beautiful balance of history, tradition, and authenticity with modernity, uniqueness, and innovation. At their Yerevan distillery, experienced cognac artisans craft brandy with local Armenian grapes and fresh water from the Katnakhbyur spring and age in barrels made with Caucasian oak wood. This statement from Ararat Erebuni is a blend of over 50 rare, unique, and priceless vintage spirits, the oldest of which comes from a 104 year old distillate. Selected from the Yerevan Brandy Company cellars, this brandy bears the name Erebuni in honor of the fortress erected in 782 BC by King Argishti I.
Erebuni’s color is a deep amber shade which blends with mahogany highlights and its aroma is deep, ambient and silky with a beautiful warmth. The palate is silky-smooth and offers notes of spices, dried fruits, roasted hazelnuts, aged oak, and vanilla. Its pleasant tartness lingers in the exquisite finish, inviting yet another sip to enjoy. Ararat Erebuni 50 year comes in a uniquely designed gift packaging and decanter. Inspired by the heritage of Armenia and the generations of craftsmanship within the distillery, the elegant golden wings and adornments offer powerful symbolism of the ancient gods. "
