This Single Malt Japanese Whisky is crafted entirely from malted barley at a single distillery in Japan, ensuring a pure and authentic character. Aged for at least 12 years, it’s made by Suntory, one of Japan’s most respected and well-known whisky makers. The whisky comes from the Hakushu Distillery, nestled deep in the forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake in the Southern Japanese Alps. High in the mountains, the distillery benefits from a cool, fresh climate and access to exceptionally pure, soft water drawn from the Ojira and Jingu Rivers.
Known for its “green and crisp” style, this whisky offers a fresh, slightly smoky flavor that feels both lively and elegant. The aroma reveals delicate hints of basil, pine needle, peppermint, melon, and green apple, while the taste brings notes of pear, mint, kiwi, yuzu, and grapefruit. It finishes clean and refreshing, with gentle touches of green tea and light smokiness. Lightly peated, it achieves a perfect balance between freshness and subtle smoke.
Bottled in a standard 750ml size, this whisky is best enjoyed neat or as a refreshing Highball mixed with soda water. Founded in 1973 by Keizo Saji, Suntory’s second Master Blender, the Hakushu Distillery has earned worldwide acclaim, including a Gold Medal at the 2025 International Spirits Challenge.
