Description
"Founded by Robin Clough, Sebastian Gonzalez and Max Davies-Gilbert, Tequila Enemigo was created to challenge the status quo of
Premium Tequila. Enemigo Tequila is from 100% of the finest Blue
Weber Agave. The select agaves are grown for 7-12 years and harvested from the lowland region of Jalisco, Mexico. Known as Volcán de Tequila, the soil in this region is fertile and mineral-rich from the volcanic geography. Compared to the often sweet and
fruity tequila crafted with red clay highland varieties, the lowland terroir lends itself to a more complex earthy and herbaceous profile. In addition, all water used for Enemigo’s production processes is filtered through the volcanic soil, imbuing the tequila with its mineral-rich quality resulting in a softer, more delicate liquid. To further their tequilas unique flavor profile, Enemigo ages their tequila in new American Oak barrels crafted by experienced coopers, air dried, and seasoned in Cuba, Missouri for 26 months. Not only committed to quality, Enemigo is also committed to sustainability through energy efficiency, water management, agave preservation and farmer protections. The first
Cristalino ever to win Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Enemigo 89 Anejo took over 3 and ½ years to perfect. The luxurious tequila is aged for a little over one year in custom-made, medium char New American Oak barrels before undergoing a complex three-phase carbon cellulose filtration process. On the nose are floral and vanilla notes which carry over into the palette initially, before developing alongside a delicate minerality and notes of refreshing lowland agave. Sip this pure, elegant tequila neat or craft a refined cocktail."
