Corzo Reposado Tequila (750Ml)

Description

Corzo Reposado is a rested tequila from Jalisco, Mexico. It is made at the Tequila Cazadores de Arandas distillery, NOM 1487, in the Los Altos highlands. Only 100% blue Weber agave goes in. The brand says it uses about twice as much agave as most tequilas.

The name comes from Chiapa de Corzo, a town that was once a battlefield. The head distiller chose it to honor his ancestors. The agave juice is fermented without the fibers. It is then triple-distilled over more than 56 hours.

Next it rests in small white oak barrels. It starts in American white oak and then moves to French oak. That time in wood adds smoothness and a gentle depth to the Corzo Silver style.

Pour a glass and you'll smell agave and vanilla, with oak and ripe banana. A little pineapple shows up as it opens. On the palate, sweet citrus and tropical fruit meet honey and oak. Caramel and a light pepper add warmth. The finish is smooth and medium in length, with oak and caramel.

Corzo suggests you sip it neat to get the full flavor. It also makes a great margarita or Mexican martini. If you like an oak-kissed reposado tequila, keep this one on hand. Tequila.net named it Best Highland Reposado in 2011.
