Description
Glaetzer Wines are crafted by third and fourth generation Barossa grape growers with the Australian winemaking passion and heritage. After a seven week journey from Brandenburg, Germany, the first Glaetzers arrived in the Barossa valley in 1888, where over a century later, patriarch Colin Glaezter would officially establish a family winery: Glaetzer Wines. The vines established then are still harvested from and growing strong and self-sufficiently in the northern Ebenezer region of the valley, with newer vines originating from grafts of these ancient ones. Today, Colin Glaetzer’s son, Ben Glaetzer, carries on the family legacy of producing premium Barossa Valley wines. Bishop by Ben Glaetzer is an authentic expression of the Barossa Valley shiraz. This wine offers an homage to his wife Judith’s heritage with both her family name, Bishop, and the symbol of the Roman goddess Venus and divine feminine energy featured on the label. Elegant structure Sourced from 50-100 year old vines, this 2017 Shiraz has intoxicating aromas of boysenberry preserves, espresso, cola, blueberry and licorice. At first sip, this
wine coats the palate with sweet and luscious notes of berry jams, cassis, raspberry, and mocha with hints of baking spices and smokiness. This medium-bodied shiraz leads into a mouthwatering finish with supple tannins and lingering notes. For pairing, the team at
CWS suggests roasted barbecue chicken or a pork tenderloin with raspberry sauce.
