About Siete Leguas

Casa Siete Leguas was founded in the highlands of Jalisco in the 1950s and has stayed family-run, keeping many traditional practices alive. The name honors the famous horse of Pancho Villa and points to a sense of movement and history behind the brand.

Siete Leguas uses estate and regional agave, traditional ovens, and a mix of pot and column distillation to produce tequilas that show clear agave character while remaining balanced for cocktails and sipping. The house focuses on craft, terroir, and a straightforward approach that connects old methods with modern drinkers.

Notable Bottles From Siete Leguas

Siete Leguas Blanco

Siete Leguas Blanco is the bottle to start. Unaged or very lightly rested, it puts cooked agave front and center. You'll notice bright agave, citrus lift, and a clean finish that makes it ideal for a classic Margarita or for sipping to learn the raw agave profile. For a first bottle, Blanco gives the clearest sense of what Siete Leguas stands for.

Siete Leguas Reposado

Reposado spends a short time in oak, which adds a touch of vanilla and soft spice while keeping the agave note present. The light woodiness smooths edges and makes drinking the tequila more gentle, approachable, for people who come from the Blanco. It works well neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails that benefit from a hint of oak.

Siete Leguas Añejo

This Siete Añejo is aged longer in barrels, bringing richer caramel, toasted oak, and dried fruit notes that sit alongside the agave base. Time in cask adds texture and length, so this bottle is best for slow sipping or for cocktails where the spirit is the star. Añejo shows how oak can deepen and round a tequila without hiding its origin.

Siete Leguas D'Antaño Extra Añejo

Tequila D'Antaño is the extra‑aged, premium expression aimed at collectors and serious sippers. Longer barrel time produces a smooth, layered spirit with pronounced oak, dark fruit, and a long finish. It's a bottle for special moments, tasting flights, or pairing with rich desserts and cigars. If you enjoy spirits that evolve in the glass, this is the one to explore.

Awards and Recognition

The name Siete Leguas has popped up and gained accolades in the TAG Global Spirits Awards, World Tequila Awards, San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and New York World Wine & Spirits Competition. Wine Enthusiast is also enthusiastic about the brand's Blanco and Reposado bottles, giving it very high scores.
