Mixing simple kitchen ingredients together will create flavorful liquors ready for any holiday party, etc. You will need a few things to get started: 7-oz. clear glass (one for each separate flavored liquor you’d like to have), swing top bottles, vodka of your choice, bourbon of your choice, anise pads, fresh ginger, vanilla beans, cinnamon, and a variety of hot peppers. Make sure to print labels for each bottle so they don’t get mixed up.
They will be called ‘Ginger Anise Vodka, Hot and Spicy Vodka, and Vanilla Cinnamon Bourbon.’ For ‘Ginger Anise Vodka, you’ll need 3 anise pods, 1 tablespoon slivered ginger, and 7 ounces of vodka. For ‘Hot and Spicy Vodka,’ you’ll need 3 hot peppers of your choice (sliced vertically), and 7 ounces of vodka. For ‘Vanilla Cinnamon Bourbon,’ you’ll need 1 vanilla bean (sliced vertically), 2 cinnamon sticks, and 7 ounces of bourbon. You can make all 3 different types or just double/triple the ingredients for as many bottles as you have.
Once you have all of the ingredients and materials gatherer, you will add the ingredients to each bottle, and then fill the bottle with vodka or bourbon. You will have to steep the liquors, which means it’s time to let the flavors you’ve added infuse into the liquors. Make sure to wait at least 2 weeks, and up to a month before drinking your new treats.
These great new liquors, available at your local liquor store, can be used as party treats, or just for a fun party with friends and family. Making unique liquors is such a fun and adult activity to do; your friends will love the idea. Turn liquor making into a monthly thing; there are always more interesting ingredients to add to your favorite liquor to make a new and tasty drink. Enjoy.
