CANDY INFUSED ALCOHOL

Be a kid again with some delectable alcohol-infused drinks. There is always room for a delicious adult treat to satisfy your palate to the fullest. Enjoy these wonderful recipes:

If you’re into York Peppermint Patties, then you will adore a ‘Grasshopper.’ It’s made with ¾ oz. cream, ¾ oz. white crème de cacao, and ¾ oz. green crème de menthe. Pour all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice, shake well, and then strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Get your Snickers fix with a ‘Tallulah.’ It’s made with 1 ¾ oz. Jack Daniel’s, 1 oz. peanut orgeat (2 c. roasted, unsalted peanuts, 1.5 c. sugar, 1 ¼ c. water, 1 tsp. orange flower water, and 1 oz. brandy or vodka), and Coca-Cola. Pour the whiskey and Peanut Orgeat into a rocks glass over ice; stir and top with Coca-Cola, and then garnish with roasted peanuts. For the Peanut Orgeat: pulverize peanuts in a food processor. In the meantime, combine sugar and water over a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar has dissolved. Allow the mixture to boil for 3 minutes; add peanuts, lower heat (allowing mixture to simmer for a few more minutes, and then gradually increase the temperature). When mixture is about to boil, remove from heat and cover. Let the mixture sit for about 6 hours, and then strain it through cheesecloth, discarding the peanuts. Add orange flower water and brandy or vodka. It can stay in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

For a really sweet delight on your palate, try a Starbursts-inspired cocktail called ‘Blood Orange Sangria.’ It’s made with 1 c. blood orange juice (or any citrus juice), 1 sliced lemon, 1 sliced blood orange, 3 sliced mandarins or clementines, and 1 bottle of champagne. In a pitcher, combine all of the sliced fruit, juice, and champagne; mix well and serve chilled for best flavor.
