Description
Ty Ku Sake has been overseen by the Yoshida Family for 124 years, spanning five generations, at the famed Umenoyado Brewery. In the heart of Nara, Japan, known as the “Birthplace of Sake” this brewery sits between the revered Katsuragi & Nijo Mountains. Not only is Umenoyado a 10 time winner of Zenkoku Shinshu Kanpyo Kai, the most prestigious sake competition in Japan, it is also the first female-owned brewery in Nara. Ty Ku Sake uses a soft, Iron-free water source from deep springs from the mountain ranges it sits between. To activate the main sake mash, Umenoyado uses natural heat convection and active koji in a premium, cedar-lined Koji room. Their traditional, natural methods result in some of the world’s
finest sake, including Ty Ku Junami White. Junami White is crafted with a special sake rice, Akebono, which is polished intessley, leaving only 70% of the grain remaining. This process removes impurities, resulting in a refined taste. Fresh, smooth and lightly sweet, Ty Ku White Sake offers subtle pear notes and a satisfying softness on the palate. As part of the top 15% of all Sake worldwide, this Junmai was awarded the Platinum Medal at the World Wine Competition and the Gold Medal at the N.Y. World Wine & Spirits Competition. Sip and enjoy Ty Ku Junami White chilled or in cocktails and paired with a wide range of dishes such as grilled seafood and meats or teppanyaki style Japanese cuisine.
