Founded by Curt Richardson in 2013, the legendary entrepreneur sought out to create a legacy bourbon with unsurpassed quality and taste. In order to achieve this he employed the help of Greg Metze and his 38 years of bourbon whiskey developing experience. Since they began this collaboration, Old Elk distillery has produced premium whiskeys and started innovative practices within the spirits industry, being named Colorado Distillery of the Year at the 2016 and 2017 New York International Spirits Competitions. Additionally, they have adopted a non-traditional patented proofing technique called “Slow Cut.” This method extends the typical 24-48 hour window into weeks and smaller increments in order to maintain a cool temperature for the liquid when going from barrel to bottling proof. Though time-consuming, this technique results in an ideally smooth and rich whiskey and demonstrates their commitment to not cutting corners to achieve the highest qualities. Infinity Blend by Old Elk is a creation by their Master Distiller Greng Metze. A combination of their signature high-malt mashbill bourbon whiskey and two classic Kentucky straight bourbon whiskies, Infinity Blend exemplifies the artful ingenuity of the Old Elk legacy. This is demonstrated in its balanced aromas of vanilla, seasoned oak, caramel, bananas foster, cinnamon and glazed peaches. On the palate, Infinity Blend whiskey is full bodied as layers of smoky oak, caramel, cinnamon, fresh rolls, cocoa, and brown sugar unfold into an intense spice. The finish carries over from the baking spice notes alongside hints of heavily seasoned oak, cocoa and tobacco into a balanced medium-long ending.
