After a summer job bottling whisky as a lad, Graeme Macaloney fell in love with whisky-making and set out to make a living doing so on his own. After Studying the Irish pot still process of making whiskey and gleaning information on the maturation process from the renowned Dr. Jim Swan, Macaloney founded his distillery on Vancouver Island in Canada. To this day Victoria’s Caledonian Distillery operates alongside its brother, Twa Dogs Brewery, crafting whiskies with the finest tools and ingredients available. Known as their “Whiskymaker’s Signature Selection” Macaloney's Caledonian Glenloy is carefully selected from their classic malt whisky aged in 60% first use bourbon casks, 15% STR red-wine barriques, 15% Orloso Sherry, and 10% PX Spanish Sherry casks. This beautiful blend has robust fruity and floral Sherry notes with mingling oak, vanilla, brine and malt. The palate is rich, full-bodied and creamy with vanilla, tropical fruit, black currant, caramel, and orange with honey, wood spices and oak lingering on the finish. With only 1,276 bottles, this limited edition, World Whiskies Awards gold medalist is packaged in individually numbered bottles and cartons with a gold foil embossed image of Vancouver Island.
