Description
For 200 years, Highland Park single malt scotch whisky has been crafted the same way on the island at the crossroads of Nordic and Scottish cultures once ruled by the Viking Kings of Norway and Denmark. Since 1798 on the Mainland of Kirkwall, Highland park has distilled in the same spot founder Magnus Eunson once had an illicit still. The remote region is surrounded by violent seas and wild winds, creating a unique climate for
scotch-making. Highland Park’s single malt is aged in the finest sherry seasoned oak casks and matured in their quiet island warehouses for a range of years. Highland Park Cask Strength is bottled straight from these casks, uncut with water and not chill filtered. The robust flavors imparted from these casks are exemplified in this bottling, created from a blend of various age statements hand-selected by Master Whisky maker Gordon Motion. On the nose, are initial sweet and smoky notes which develop with aromas of violets, vanilla, and peat smoke. The palate is rich with a full-bodied feel and flavors of honey, toffee, nutmeg, and citrus which lead into a smooth finish akin to spiced crème brûlée. Don’t miss your chance to grab a bottle of this limited cask strength from Highland Park!
