Description

Colina Colada began as a love story. Don Colina created it for his own wedding. He served it to his guests to mark the first kiss he shared with his bride. Today his son, Carlos Morfa, makes it from the family's centuries-old Cuban recipe.

Colina calls it a Caribbean rum horchata. Caribbean rum is blended with fresh dairy cream, cinnamon, lemon, nutmeg and other spices. It is bottled at 14.5% ABV, so it stays light and easy to sip.

The nose brings cinnamon bread, sweet cream and a soft rum note. On the palate it is creamy and lightly sweet, with cinnamon in the lead. Hints of lemon and nutmeg follow. The finish lingers with gentle spice, a touch of banana and a little more lemon.

Pour it over ice in a tumbler, or chill it and sip it neat. It works in mixed shots and your favorite cocktails too. Blend it with ice and fruit for a quick shake. You can also stir a splash into coffee or serve it next to rice pudding.
