Have a nice party tonight with some fun tequila treats to set the night into motion; making your own drinks can liven up any party. A ‘Mex-jito’ is sweet and healthy compared to most alcohol drinks on the market. It’s made with 1.5 oz. Azunia Reposado, 1 oz. Azunia Organic Agave Nectar, ½ oz. freshly squeezed lime juice, lime wedge, 10 large fresh mint leaves, and club soda. To make it, muddle in a cocktail shaker the mint leaves and lime wedge, and then add tequila, agave nectar, lime juice, and lots of ice.
Shake strongly for 5 seconds, strain into an ice-filled glass, and then top with club soda. Garnish it with a lime wedge. For something really unique, try a ‘Mexican Hot Chocolate.’ It’s made with 2 cups of milk, 1 disk of Ibarra chocolate, whipped cream, and Tequila Tezon Blanco. Warm the milk and chocolate in a saucepan, stir with whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture starts to boil. Remove it from the heat and froth the chocolate with a whisk. Serve immediately. It is 2 parts hot chocolate to 1 part Tequila Tezon Blanco. Enjoy.
Have a splash of Mexican fun in a glass; a ‘Mexican Madras’ is made with 1 oz. tequila, 1 oz. orange juice, 3 oz. cranberry juice, and a splash of lime juice. Shake it all well together with ice, and then strain into a cocktail glass. If you like very sweet and refreshing alcohol drinks, make a ‘Mexican Martini.’ It’s made with 2 oz. Herradura Silver Tequila, 1.5 oz. Cointreau orange liqueur, 2 oz. sweet & sour mix, 1 oz. lime juice, 2 oz. orange juice, 2 olives, and a splash of lemon-lime juice.
Pour all of the ingredients into a large cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake, and then strain into a large martini glass with a salted rim. Add two olives at the end on a spear. This drink will surely delight your guests. Have fun.
