TEQUILA DAYS

Tequila is one of America’s favorite alcohols. It’s good to drink on its own as well as mixed in with other delicious ingredients. You can order a drink from the bar or you can make something tasty all on your own time. A ‘Blue Shark’ is strong yet subtle going down. It’s made by mixing ½ oz. tequila, ½ oz. vodka, and ½ oz. Blue Curacao in a shot glass. For a juicy drink, make a ‘Blue Smoke.’ It’s made with 1 ¼ oz. tequila, 3 oz. orange juice, and ½ oz. Blue Curacao. It’s served in a chilled wine glass with finely crushed ice. Add the tequila and orange juice, stir, and then float the Blue Curacao on top. This drink is pretty and tasty. For a little pick-me-up, try a ‘Brave Bull.’ It’s made by adding 1.5 oz. tequila and ½ oz. coffee liqueur over ice cubes in a rocks glass, and then stirring it.

Mix it up a bit with a bit of sweet and sour; a ‘Bumblebee Keela’ is quite the delicious drink. It’s made with 2 oz. tequila, 1.5 oz. sweet & sour mix, and ½ oz. honey. Combine with ice, shake well, strain, and then add ice. Drinks always seem to be more fun when they have interesting names; a ‘Cactus Banger’ is just that. It’s made with 1 ¼ oz. tequila, 2.5 oz. orange juice, and ½ oz. Galliano. Build it in a Collins glass, and then float the Galliano. For a more unique and interesting drink to make, the ‘Cactus Bite’ is a great choice to make for your friends. It’s made with 2 oz. tequila, 2 tsp. Triple sec, 2 tsp. Drambuie, 2 oz. lemon juice, 1.5 tsp. fine sugar, and a dash of bitters. In a shaker that is filled halfway with ice, combine all of the ingredients, shake well, and then strain into a cocktail glass. These grand drinks will bring people together for a nice celebration anytime of the year.
