It’s made with 3 room temperature lemons, ½ cup sugar, 1 bottle of chilled champagne, ¾ cup of chilled, quality vodka, and 4 oz. candied lemon peels. With a vegetable peeler, remove zest from each lemon in a long and continuous spiral, and then juice the lemons. Strain the pulp and set aside. Heat sugar and ½ cup of water over medium heat, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, add the zest, and then let it all cool for about 2 hours. Pour the champagne, vodka, lemon juice, and syrup you made 2 hours ago into a punch bowl, and stir. To serve it, use glasses with candied peels. Your friends will come back for seconds and thirds.
