Founded in 1950 by Silvio Nardi, owner in the Umbrian Altotevere-one of the first companies which became leaders in Italian agricultural machinery-Tuentte Silvio is still family owned and operated to this day. The Silvio Nardi estates boast 36 vineyards which extend from the East to the West sides of Montalcino on a mainly hilly area with a range of altitudes. Each terrier has thriving natural environments and clonal selections which reflect the flavors of the past. With multiple fermentation tanks, each lot undergoes completely separate fermentations until the final blend. Tenute Silvio Nardi Brunello di Montalcino is an excellent red wine made with a blend of premium grapes from the Casale del Bosco and Manachiara estates, following the strict DOCG requirements for a Brunello di Montalcino. Deep garnet red with an aroma of macerated red fruit, this wine develops beautiful tannins from aging in new and used French and Slavonian oak barrels. Tight acidity provides structure for flavors of berry, walnut, and spice, with a lingering finish. For pairing, the team at CWS suggests Tuscan Pecorino cheese or a roasted pheasant dish.
