Gran Centenario Reposado Tequila was established in 1857 by a tavern owner and tequila manufacturer named Lázaro Gallardo. Selección Suave™was used as an innovative process used by the very first Tequila Master Distiller. This allows the agave to blended and be the richest and smoothest tequilas to give it that exceptional quality and taste. In 1920 Lázaro's son, Luciano, began to bottle his father's famed tequila. This was inspired by the Art Deco style of architecture. The bottle they use right now is similar to the one they use today. "The Angel of Independence" gives the inspiration to the bottle which was inspired by the Mexican Centenario Gold Bullion Coin. It was minted to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mexico's independence in 1910. Today they remain a family-owned business and carry the same heritage and traditions they had over 150 years ago. Gran Centenario is distilled in small batches in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Their 100% agave tequilas have an extraordinary smoothness and complexity making them one of Mexico's top tequilas. Gran Centenario Reposado Tequila is aged in new oak casks, which gives it that perfect smooth and tasteful finish. Aromas of sweet tropical fruits and sweet tones of agave are felt with hints of cloves, oak, toasted almonds, and vanilla.
